Yes, entirely. Swala Axis is free to use for everyone — browsing, searching, getting prayer times, and even adding places. There are no subscription fees, no premium tiers, and no advertising.

Swala Axis currently supports Arabic (العربية), English, French (Français), Turkish (Türkçe), Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia), Malay (Bahasa Melayu), Urdu (اردو), and Persian (فارسی). You can switch language from the navigation bar or by visiting /{lang} (e.g. /ar, /fr).

Swala Axis is an independent Islamic technology project. It is not affiliated with any government, religious authority, or political organisation. Our mission is to make Islamic information accessible to Muslims everywhere.

Prayer times are calculated using standard astronomical methods. We support multiple calculation methods including MWL (Muslim World League), ISNA, Egyptian General Authority, Karachi, Umm Al-Qura (Saudi Arabia), Tehran, and Shia Ithna-Ashari. You can select your preferred method on the Prayer Times page.

You can choose between the Shafi'i/Maliki/Hanbali method (shadow length = 1x) and the Hanafi method (shadow length = 2x). The default follows the Shafi'i method. You can change this on the Prayer Times page.

Prayer times are computed using verified astronomical algorithms and are generally accurate to within 1–2 minutes. For critical timings (Fajr, Maghrib), we recommend checking with your local mosque as some use slight adjustments for safety margins.

Yes. You can search for any city worldwide on the Prayer Times page. We use GPS coordinates to calculate times, so even cities not in our database can be searched by coordinates or using the "Use my location" feature.

Go to the Places page and click "Use my location", or search for your city. You can filter by type (mosque, halal restaurant, Islamic school, etc.) and by madhab (Sunni/Shia). You can also view all places on the Map view.

Click "Add Place" in the navigation. You will need to fill in the place name, type, location (you can pin it on the map), and any additional details. A free account is required to submit places. All submissions are reviewed before appearing publicly.

On any place detail page, click "Suggest Edit". Your edit will be reviewed by our team and applied if accurate. You can also use the "Report issue" button for urgent corrections.

Places go through several verification levels: Unverified → Auto-verified (by bot) → Community-verified (by multiple users) → Trusted-verified (by a trusted contributor) → Admin-verified (manually by our team). Verification badges appear on the place listing.

You can find: Mosques (جامع/مسجد), Musallas (prayer rooms), Islamic Centres, Halal Restaurants, Halal Butchers/Markets, Islamic Schools, Quran Schools, Husainiyas, and more.

No. Browsing places, getting prayer times, and reading the blog all work without an account. An account is only required to add places, write reviews, RSVP to events, and save favourites.

Click "Sign In" in the top navigation and then "Create Account". You can register with an email and password, or sign in with your Google account.

Go to your Profile Settings, scroll to the bottom, and click "Delete Account". This will permanently remove your account and personal data within 30 days, as per our Privacy Policy.

Click "Sign In", then "Forgot Password". Enter your email address and we will send you a password reset link. Check your spam folder if you don't receive it within a few minutes.

Yes! Our REST API provides access to places, prayer times, and events. It is free for personal and non-commercial use, with a rate limit of 60 requests/minute. Visit API Documentation for full details.

No API key is required for public endpoints. However, we ask that you include a User-Agent header identifying your application and credit Swala Axis as the data source.

All API responses are in JSON format with UTF-8 encoding. The API supports filtering by country, city, type, and language.

If you browse without an account: we collect anonymised analytics (hashed IP, pages visited, language preference). If you create an account: we also store your email, username, and any content you submit. We never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

We use minimal cookies: a session cookie for login, a language preference cookie, and theme/layout cookies. If Google Analytics is enabled, those cookies are also set. You can disable cookies in your browser, but this may affect login functionality.
