Kuhusu

Within the sacred precincts of Mecca, the noblest city on the face of the earth, the congregational mosque named after Shaykh Husayn bin Ibrahim Abu Sulayman invites every resident and pilgrim to share in the special reward attached to prayers offered within the Haram district. Mecca holds its unrivalled rank as the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, the site of the Holy Kaaba built by our master Ibrahim and his son Ismail, may peace be upon them both, and the qiblah towards which every Muslim on the face of the earth turns in worship five times each day.

The scholar whose name the mosque bears belonged to the long distinguished line of Meccan teachers who devoted their lives to the Qur'an, to hadith, and to the refinement of worshippers through patient instruction. Families of Mecca have for centuries endowed masjids in honour of their learned forebears, particularly those who served the pilgrims who arrive from every corner of the Muslim world during the seasons of Hajj and Umrah. The act of dedication reflects both filial gratitude and the hope that every rakah prayed within these walls will bring continuous reward to the soul whose name adorns the entrance.

Meccan architecture of the twentieth and twenty first centuries combines traditional Hejazi detail, including latticed wooden roshan windows and shaded courtyards, with the practical needs of large urban congregations. The prayer hall offers cool marble flooring, ceiling fans for the hot Hejazi summer, a carved minbar for the Jumu'ah khutbah, and generously fitted facilities for women, children, and visitors who may have never before set foot within a Meccan masjid. Daily lessons held between Maghrib and Isha cover Qur'an memorisation, tajwid, and the seerah.

The current prayer times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at this Meccan mosque appear on the page below, accompanied by the precise address, a clear location map, and practical notes that help pilgrims travelling from the Haram, residents of the surrounding neighbourhoods, and newcomers to the holy city to join the congregation here with the calm dignity befitting prayer in the sacred city.
