Kuhusu

Along the wide boulevards of Round Rock, a rapidly growing suburb north of Austin in the central Texas Hill Country, the Baitul Muqeet Mosque serves the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of the region as a centre of daily prayer, education, and neighbourly outreach. The community, known for its motto Love for All, Hatred for None, has built mosques across the United States dedicated to bearing witness to the name of God as the Preserver, al Muqit. The name Baitul Muqeet, the House of the Preserver, evokes the divine attribute described in the Qur'an and encountered daily in the lives of believers who trust in God's sustenance and guarding care.

Texas welcomed Muslim families throughout the twentieth century, with early communities gathering in Houston and Dallas before the wave of university and tech migration brought new believers to the Austin corridor. The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, reminded his companions that whoever builds a mosque for God, God will build for him a house in paradise, and communities across North America take comfort in that promise as they raise prayer spaces far from the lands of their grandparents.

Architecturally the building follows the clear contemporary North American mosque style. Cream brick walls, a single modest dome above the prayer hall, a slim ornamental minaret, arched windows, a wide parking area shaded by live oaks, and a separate multipurpose room for classes and community dinners accommodate the growing congregation. Inside, soft green carpets cover the floor, the mihrab faces north east toward Mecca across the great circle line, and a small library holds English, Urdu, and Arabic volumes for every reading level.

Accurate daily prayer timings for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at Baitul Muqeet Mosque are listed on this page along with the Round Rock address, a map pin, and hospitable notes for visitors arriving from downtown Austin, Pflugerville, or the long I 35 corridor north toward Waco. During Ramadan the congregation hosts nightly iftars featuring biryani, kebabs, samosas, and sweet kheer, often inviting neighbours of every background to share in the breaking of the fast. Any traveller journeying through central Texas between the old mission at San Antonio and the forests of East Texas is warmly welcomed to step within these bright halls, to kneel upon the patterned carpets alongside the friendly congregation, and to whisper a soft supplication of gratitude to the Preserver whose mercy and gentle care have already carried so many families safely across vast oceans to raise their children in a new prairie land beneath a wide and welcoming blue Texan sky.
